Branch # 5 was established in the spring of 1947 and in the few years that it existed it never had more than 20 members. Despite its small size, the branch was active and worked well.

In 1951, a large number of members left the town of Renfrew and the branch, down to just 11 members, disbanded. The library was donated to Branch # 23 in Hamilton and the remaining funds were used to purchase a tombstone fhe grave of Mr. Jozef Klosowki who died on March 25, 1950.
